learn the rules like a pro,
break them like an artist!
And that’s exactly what we do at PAIO!
PAIO stands for a ‘pair’ in Italian. The company was founded with one simple thought – crafted creativity - and has ever since had one objective: to offer its customers handcrafted ‘one of a kind’ shoes unique to their spirit while leading the way to becoming a conscious leather-free vegan brand.
With generations of expertise in the art of design, ALL our PAIO shoes are handcrafted - right from design development; material selection to patternmaking and shoe lasting and finishing.
Our shoes are an expression of who you are - delightful and unconventional!
Which is why we give our customers the unique chance to ‘design your own shoes’. With PAIO, you can customise your shoes right from design modifications, heel heights & accessories to material selection. These shoes are ‘made to order’ which means we make them to your size (foot length and width). Made to measure also gives us the opportunity to design the shoes to your comfort level by adding extra cushioning or padding.
With innumerable permutation-combinations, our shoe designs are as limitless as your imaginations!
We at PAIO believe in CRAFTING MAGIC TOGETHER and are always on the lookout for creative collaborations with people who inspire us! Our past collaborations have been with Lakme Fashion Week designers such as Whimsical by Shica and Siddhartha Bansal in 2016 and designer Rajdeep Ranawat in LFW SS19. We have also collaborated with JADE by Monica & Karishma to celebrate their #decadeofJADE.
We are a PETA approved vegan shoe brand! When PAIO was founded, we took a conscious decision to stay away from leather! As such, we are a vegan shoe brand and make use of various materials from faux leathers to fabrics and accessories for our shoes!
Shweta’s love for shoes began as a doodle project. This hobby soon turned into hundreds of designs over three years as a student of Advertising - Mass Media Student at Ruia College, University of Mumbai. Deciding to take this passion further, she enrolled herself in the University of Southampton – Winchester School of Art, UK as a student of Design: Fashion Management. Over the course, this hobby-turned-passion for textiles, leather and shoes grew into post-it notes and ideas in her book for a project to pursue after her Masters.
With a project plan in mind, she came back to Mumbai in search of local craftsmen who could help her pursue this passion into a successful business. With hundreds of samples, scouting and losing her way in the alleys of Mumbai and final negotiations, she embarked on this journey called PAIO.
